Maytag Appliance Repair

Maytag — including the Bravos washer and dryer lines — is built simple, and I keep them running across Reseda, the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys, and the 210 corridor to Rancho Cucamonga. Simple machines mean honest, affordable repairs — rarely a surprise on the bill.

Common Maytag problems we fix

Dryer thermal fuse keeps blowing

The fuse blows because the vent is choked — lint in the vent run, crushed flex hose behind the machine. I replace the fuse and check the whole vent path, because a new fuse in a blocked vent is a return trip waiting to happen.

Washer bangs on spin (Bravos / top-load)

Worn suspension rods or dampers let the basket slam around. I replace the full set — partial replacements don't hold.

Washer won't agitate or spin — clicking

Failed shift actuator — it clicks, never shifts, and the machine sits there. Common on Maytag VMW-platform washers; straightforward swap.

Fridge not cooling — clicking from the back

That's usually the compressor start relay clicking and failing to start the compressor. Cheap part, quick fix — but I verify the compressor windings first, because a dead compressor is a different conversation.

Dryer squeals or thumps

Worn idler pulley or drum rollers — the classic Maytag dryer soundtrack. I replace the pulley and rollers together; they wear as a set.

I service Maytag Bravos and top-load washers, electric and gas dryers, side-by-side and top-freezer refrigerators, and dishwashers.

Please review our service call terms:

• The diagnostic visit is $79. If you proceed with the repair, the full $79 is credited toward your repair — you pay only for the repair itself. If you decide not to repair, the $79 diagnostic fee is due for the visit.

• Built-in appliances: in most cases (about 60%) we can diagnose a built-in unit in place. Sometimes a full diagnosis requires pulling the unit out (extraction). Extraction is done only with your approval on site and costs extra, in addition to the $79 diagnostic fee: built-in dryer — $150; single built-in oven — $200; double built-in oven — $250; built-in refrigerator — $300. You may decline extraction and end the visit at any point — then only the $79 diagnostic fee applies, even if a complete diagnosis is not possible without extraction.

• Confirming your visit: before heading out, your technician will text you to confirm. Please reply — if we don't receive a reply, your reserved slot will be released and the visit cancelled. If you need to cancel, please let us know before the technician heads out; once the technician has arrived, the $79 service call fee applies.
